There’s no change on the WhereArtI leaderboard this week as the first three people to post the correct answer were new to the quiz. It’s great to have some new folk entering and give the regulars some competition!!
Welcome to @tycoonmax, @marksteyn and @wornoutmumhack and keep entering to climb the top 10.
How well do you know Edinburgh? More every Monday, 8am. #wherearti
A brand new WhereArtI? quiz for you all today, simply tell me where I am sketching from. First three correct answers will get points on the leaderboard. How well do you know Edinburgh?
Include hashtag #wherearti with your answers either below, on facebook or twitter and remember to keep an eye on the ES facebook page for clues, if needed throughout the day. Answers to come by this time tomorrow, and although for now the quiz is just for fun the first three correct answers will get a mention plus a link from my site from the WhereArtI Leaderboard, HERE
I’m showing some sketcher support for Andy Murray today with this pen and watercolour drawing. He’s playing third today on centre court against Baghdatis. ‘Come on Andy!!’
Last night I added a colour wash to my montage of images from the heavy horses area at the Royal Highland Show. I think it really brings the piece to life.
I hope to do a sheep one next, I have some great photos thanks to Mrs Sketcher. I’ll let you know when it’s done 🙂
Have a great Saturday everyone, anyone up to anything arty today in Edinburgh?
What do you think of the composition of a few photos I took at the Royal Highland Show last week? I wanted to combine the three elements, the rosettes with the horse and truck.
I plan to add some colour later, but perhaps just to the rosettes, leaving the horse and truck mono. Any ideas?!
Altogether now, ‘Booooo!’ Yes I found myself behind one of Edinburgh’s traffic wardens this morning, merrily making his way down the Royal Mile, scanning the alleys and closes for illegally parked cars.
I couldn’t resist a wee sketch as I followed, I must of looked a little funny to passers by though.
I take it they used to have blue uniforms?
Evening sketch fans, I thought I would update the two sketches I drew whilst at the #RoyalHighlandShow this weekend, I posted these from the show on the day but the quality wasn’t great and so I thought I would scan them now.
I was very self conscious at first, in such a crowded place I felt everyone was watching me as I took out my watercolours. Which is perhaps why they are a little rushed, but practice makes perfect and all I need is a little more experience, and confidence.
I also took a great number of photographs which I hope to sketch from in the coming days, as ever you’ll be the first to see the results.
A really tough one this week but I’m sure some of you will know it. It’s little way out of Edinburgh but most Edinburgh dwellers will of been here for a walk in the country, or perhaps for a day trip when at school?
More clues later if needed but does anyone already know where I sketched from?
Remember to tag your answers #wherearti and the first three correct entries will win the all important wherearti leaderboard points 🙂 good luck!
We’ve found the food hall! And inside I sketched a quicky if the cookery demonstration area, where Wendy Barrie and Colin Wallace were entertaining the crowd. This is the second of my live sketches from the Royal Highland Show. PS The steak was yummy!
