A sketch free day today, so I just thought I’d try a close up of ‘any sunday’. Plus I’m trying to set up the fan page, and I can’t do two things at once. 🙂
A walk up the Royal Mile today, rain forced me to hide in an doorway and this was my view to the buildings opposite. Including the lovely cafe ‘Always Sunday’.
I have to admit I brought the original sketch home to work on a little more, it’s good to spend a bit more time on a drawing sometimes.
With most folk looking down from the mound towards Princes street, this view looks up, towards the castle.
Intricate iron lamps light the way up to the castle, via Ramsey Court.
Trip out to Dobbies garden centre today. More coffee and and a quic sketch from the cafe.
In this weather the ‘view from cafe’ may become a recurring theme!
sketching from the tv tonight…

mmmm
Okay so it’s not great, but grease proof paper isn’t easy to draw on … Lunch with the mrs was lovely, the burgers at 9a lived up to their reputation.
So I didn’t get very far today, but sometimes you just need some coffee. Especially on this wintry October afternoon, it’s bloomin frezzin on the Mile.
The view from the back of Canongate Kirk, which lies towards the bottom of the Royal Mile. Overlooking the graveyard the view stretches up to Calton Hill.
I had a trip to the botanics today with Joanne. Met a friendly robin, and drew these pretty blue flowers.
