An oil painting commission from a photo I took. If you require a painting I can come to you to take some photographs to work from, or if you have an image already I can use that.
Many angles and shapes making up a walkway through Scottish Parliament. I had started to do this as a simple line drawing but I can’t stop myself from shading bits in.
More discipline required tomorrow.
These two magpies were perched on the TV aerials opposite my house. They were silhouetted against a beautiful sunrise which the sketch obviously doesn’t do justice to.
I need to find a way of adding colour in a hurry! Five minutes after this the sunrise was gone and clouds had surrounded the house.
St Andrew’s and St George’s Church is situated at the east end of George St, in the city centre. The grade A listed building dates back to the 1780’s and displays all the classical elegance typical of Georgian architecture.
The back end of a bus, as it waits outside the Scottish Parliament. The number 36 weaves its way through the city from Holyrood to Leith. I was tempted to jump aboard but alas I still have half a days work to do 🙂
The view across the street whilst waiting on a number 8 tonight. A street lamp lights up the wall of the bridge and a couple of commuters on the way home.
Early morning rise to see the highlights of yesterdays Premier League matches. The games after United weren’t that fascinating for me, hence the pencil and paper came out. Good day for the reds though, the Arse are looking like contenders too.
Sketches, news and family life in Scotland's capital city.
