A Night at the Opera
A tale full of emotion brought to life by the Scottish Opera at the Festival Theatre.
Last night I was at the Festival Theatre to see Scottish Opera’s production of La Traviata by Verdi. Such emotion in a sorry tale brought to life by an excellent cast including both home grown talent and international stars like soprano Hye-Youn Lee as Violetta and Ji-Min Park as Alfredo, who both appear in my sketch below.
I have only seen a few operas but each time I do I am caught up by the wonder and magic of a live show at the theatre, seeing such amazing talent both on stage and beneath the stage as the orchestra increase the drama.
I loved it. The costumes, the wonderful draping curtains, the Italian language and the plinky plunky violins and big booming drums. I have been humming the tunes since I walked out onto a packed (and still light at 10pm) South Bridge after the show.
There is still time to see this emotional production which brings Scottish Operas 61st Season to a close. Tickets are available for Thursday 14th and Saturday 16th June and can be booked via the link below.
