With only a couple of days left of the school holidays I thought a trip to the seaside was in order. We set off early and went straight to the foot of the Berwick Law, a volcanic rock just outside the seaside town of North Berwick.
We climbed to the top to enjoy fantastic views of the beaches and waters beyond although Edinburgh was covered in cloud and soon the wind picked up and we saw lighting out at sea and heard the rumblings of thunder above our heads.
Not wanting to be blown off the Law we headed down for fun on the beach and ice creams on the high street while window shopping. The perfect break from the festival and only and hour away.
I will be back in North Berwick for a sketching workshop by the sea and you can join me by booking a place on the two and a half hour sketching tour looking at pen marks and watercolour washes in a wonderful seaside location.
North Berwick is a very inspiring place!
