A new idea to have a quick weekly round up of my sketching sent direct to all my paid followers. I really appreciate your support as I continue to sketch this wonderful city. There is also an option below for you to suggest future sketches around Edinburgh.
Private workshop sketching
The week started with a private sketching class in and around Café Kuba at the Edinburgh Printmakers. Perfect for a relaxed meeting and they have a lovely garden and seating area outside too.
We sketched from photos and created a number of Edinburgh watercolours. If you would like to know more about my private workshops then email me at contact@edinburghsketcher.com
Spring sunshine in the park
The sun came out this week and I enjoyed a walk through Inverleith Park with my wife Joanne and then a coffee in Stockbridge. I am so lucky to have these views so close.
Holiday memories
I finished my three montage sketches from our holiday with this watercolour of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Firenze or Florence. It was a magic trip and I look forward to sharing the full sketches in a separate post soon.
St Margarets House
A sketch of St Margaret’s House on London Road, a creative hub of activity with workshops, Artist studios and exhibitions like the one I am taking part in. ‘For Love Or Money’ is the first exhibition from The Arienas Collective, with whom I run my workshops from in the New Town.
Artists from the collective will be showcasing their work and sharing a little about how we make our art and combine it with family and working life.
There will also be talks and taster workshops running while the exhibition takes place between Saturday 24th and Saturday 31st May. You can book on to my taster class for just £5 and try the sketching tools I use and create a couple of drawings whilst at the gallery. Use the button below.
Good luck with the show
