A Book Festival Sketch

A trip to the festival to see my book.

It was the last weekend of Edinburgh International Book Festival and my family and I made it along to soak up the atmosphere, sketch the new location and see MY BOOK INSIDE 🤩🤣👍

I was so pleased to hear my illustrated picture book created with author Scott Coull (all about a family’s holiday in St Andrews and their love of ice cream) was on sale in the festival shop.

This week I have had a couple of workshops with Arienas Collective in the New Town.

It is great welcoming visitors to the city and on Sunday I was introducing a sketcher from New Mexico to Circus Lane, their first time seeing this iconic Edinburgh street.

I just love the curve of the cobbles as the pretty houses turn away into the distance. It is the perfect place to end my perspectives workshop.

It was a beautifully sunny day on Sunday, I do admit were a little creative with the sky for this one though 😉

A trip to the Highlands

Last week I managed a few days up by Loch Rannoch and it was wonderfully peaceful.

Just off the main routes for tour busses and caravans my wife and I enjoyed a break at the Loch Rannoch Hotel and Spa and I thoroughly recommend it.

Perfectly positioned on the loch with walks all around us we ate and drank well, and exercised in the surrounding hills. Even heading up and over to Loch Garry on a couple of electric bikes.

This view was from an afternoon walk and sketch when we saw a group of stags eating infront of the village of Kinloch Rannoch.

I can’t wait to return.
