An impressive building with a fascinating interior and history.

WhereArtI answer : 9th January
Yesterday’s WhereArtI Quiz sketch was the Surgeons’ Hall building on Nicholson Street. This may be the view from the City Restaurant, one of my family’s favourites and great for gluten free fish and chips – yum!
Bill Chan wins the cards and I will have another sketch quiz next Monday. Bye for now 🙂

Surgeon’s Hall!
The museum at the bottom of the mound…:-)
This is where we someimes got off the bus when visiting my Granny. She lived down in Oxford Street but some buses only went as far as Surgeons Hall then turned back using Nicholson Square. A toilet at the rounded end of the square gave some relief for the bus crew. From the Surgeons Hall, we would walk south past the co-op and a pork butcher before arriving with sausages for granny’s tea.
The actual building is usually hidden behind the high wall. It is now a museum which I believe contains the infamous Burke&Hare exhibit.
It’s 100% the outside of Surgeon’s Hall 😊
