I wanted to capture this iconic corner of the Southside with my watercolours.

Mumtaz Hussain who along with his family have owned and run this gem of an art supplies shop since 1984, and unfortunately he is having to close and I wish him and his family all the best.

Always welcoming and very helpful I remember going to the shop many times for pens, paper and ink when I first started EdinburghSketcher.

With many places to buy stationary online it must be hard to keep going these days, but I for one will miss looking around, the advice and just the smell of a good pen shop.
