More sites from the top deck of a bus into Edinburgh this morning. A lovely fir tree heavy with snow, a half covered car and some icicles all caught the eye as we made our way in.

The unknown monument
Heading uphill today, more to keep warm than any other reason I passed this monument on Regent Road. I have unfortunately no idea what it is called, so if you do then let me know, it is almost opposite Regent Terrace and the New Parliament House.
In the background lie the crags of Arthurs Seat and Queens Park.
Arthurs Seat
A close-up of yesterdays trip to Arthurs seat, which stands about a mile east of Edinburgh Castle. This drawing is in fact Salisbury crags, a series of steep cliffs rising from the Radical road – a path around the crags.

half way horse
What a dreich day today in Edinburgh. Not a morning for sketching outdoors. Instead a portrait of a horse I’ve been meaning to do for my neice.
I’ll add a colour wash later to bring ‘Toby’ to life!
