As June turns to July my weddings and workshops are in full summer swing but also the excitement of sketching fringe shows is building as August in Edinburgh gets closer.

Sketchers and sketches from Kellie Castle

This month I had a really enjoyable visit to Kellie Castle in Fife for a workshop, after a couple of low numbers the attendance has steadily grown as word has got out about my monthly visits. So much so the National Trust for Scotland and I have added an extra date on Friday 29th August after a one off date at Falkland Palace on Sunday 20th July. First up for those in Edinburgh though I have a lovely trip to Lauriston Castle on Friday 11th July.

Walks and outdoor sketching

The warm weather has helped me get out and about on morning walks lately, although the last time I was drenched walking through Stockbridge!

Sketching on the Royal Mile and the Water of Leith

I am so thankful to be living in a city which has hills, rivers and a shoreline to explore, and occasionally I have stopped to sketch my walks too.

Wedding Season

Summertime is wedding season too and here is a couple of my photos from a favour sketching evening this month. I take my paints along and create mini sketches of couples and families for them to take away at the end of the night. This one was at a gorgeous house in Barnton where I drew from a marquee.
